23-year-old winger Will Atkinson has today joined Bradford City on loan from Hull City until the end of the season – with a view to making it a permanent transfer in the summer.
Atkinson has recently completed a loan period at Plymouth Argyle and has previously had temporary spells at Port Vale, Mansfield and Rotherham. He is best known at Valley Parade, however, for his time on loan at Rochdale where he played a starring role in the Great Manchester club’s 3-0 romp at Valley Parade in December 2009 – arguably the great team performance we’ve seen against the Bantams since the fall into League Two.
Having only made five appearances for Hull since emerging through the youth ranks – where he would have been known to Phil Parkinson after his brief spell in charge – Atkinson is looking elsewhere to further his career. His arrival throws up question marks over City’s other loanees, Andy Haworth and Charlie Taylor.
