With Kyel Reid and Zavon Hines still unavailable for another three weeks (see an in-depth report of Phil Parkinson’s fans forum appearance on Width of a Post from 9am tomorrow), Bradford City have today signed England under-19 winger Blair Turgott from West Ham United on loan for two months.
Turgott, who will be eligible to play for the Bantams in all three of the cup competitions we are still in, has been impressing for the Hammers as part of their Development Squad. Ian Hendon, the West Ham Development Squad manager, stated last March that Turgott is “an up-and-coming player with a bright future ahead of him”. Although yet to play a senior game in professional football, he has played for his country at every age group level, including five times for England u19s where he has scored three times. He has already become a cult figure on Twitter.
Parkinson will be looking for Turgott to inject some directness and pace to the flanks, which has been lacking in the absence of Reid and Hines.
