With Bradford City playing on Sunday this weekend, our regular match preview feature will appear on Saturday instead of the usual Friday. In the meantime, valued reader, we have a favour to ask…
As previously announced, Width of a Post is incredibly proud to have been shortlisted twice at the Football Blogging Awards. We have made the six-strong website finalist lists for Best Club Blog and Best Established Football Blog.
The winners are decided by public vote, and this Sunday sees the voting close prior to the awards ceremony next Thursday.
So – please bear with us for this last plug – if you have not yet voted and enjoy what we do, please can we ask you to vote by Sunday? Without getting the violins out, we are up against websites devoted to Premier League clubs, who naturally have a much bigger readership and can call upon greater support. Winning either award looks a long shot, so every vote really does count.
To vote for us…
You can vote via Twitter, if you have an account, by copying and pasting one or both of the following into a Tweet and posting it:
I am voting in @TheFBAs for @thewidthofapost as the Best Football #Established Blog
I am voting in @TheFBAs for @thewidthofapost as the Best Football #Club Blog
There’s also a Facebook option, simply click here.
Alternatively, click here to register your email address to vote (the Football Blogging Awards will then send you a link with details of what to do).
To vote for our other Bradford City friends…
Bantams Banter have been on TV and radio campaigning for votes – even getting the players to help with this brilliant video. We admire their extrovert skills, and urge you to vote for Tom and Dom for Best Podcast (Twitter: I am voting in @TheFBAs for @bantamsbanter as the Best Football #Podcast)
Sat in the Crowd’s Joe Cockburn, a valued member of this parish also, is up for Best New Blog and deserves your vote too. (Twitter: I am voting in @TheFBAs for @satinthecrowd as the Best Football #New Blog)
A huge thanks to everyone who has voted. It has been over-whelming to see so many votes go through. Let’s hope that, just like our beloved football team, Width of a Post can cause an upset or two.

I cannot imagine the time you and your team put into this website. To produce such high quality articles so regularly is just incredible. I have voted for Bantams Banter and Joe’s blog too and I think, as BCAFC fans, we are lucky to have so much superb and varied commentary on the club we love at our fingertips. Best of luck to Jason and co – no matter what happens, you’ll always be the first site I log onto in my lunch hour! 😉
I have never read such considered and intelligent comment on all thing City as on here, certainly not in the T and so called A. All the best for the award thing but im afraid i am selfish enough to say don’t really care so long as you keep up the excellent work. Best wishes from BD6
Thank you both for your really nice comments which mean a lot.
