Colin Doyle’s calm assurance in goal this season has been very impressive – and curiously it has led to very little comment.
The summer signing from Blackpool has shaken off pre-season concerns about his presence in the box to produce a series of composed, no-fuss performances. Far from the busiest keeper in the league, Doyle has nevertheless proved reliable when called upon. He’s even earned a call up to the Republic of Ireland squad for the first time in seven years. As good a start to life at Valley Parade as any shot stopper.
And it has got WOAP thinking – just who is the greatest-ever Bradford City goalkeeper? We’ve been blessed with so many excellent number 1s over the years, but who is the best of the best?
So we’d like to ask you, valued reader, to help us. Please can we ask you to name your top three Bradford City goalkeepers from your time following the club, and email them to us at widthofapost@gmail.com. Feel free to include supporting comments for your choices, and we’ll publish the best ones.
We’ll collate all the responses, and later this month reveal the top 10 Bradford City goalkeepers of all time – as voted for by WOAP readers.
Please email your top three by Friday 27 January.
Thanks for your help.
