An evening with Wayne Jacobs

By Jason McKeown

Further to our story earlier this week that Jamie Lawrence would be the star guest of the next Skipton Bantams meeting, there has been a change of plan. Jamie can no longer attend, but a very exciting replacement has been found – Wayne Jacobs.

From his 11 years playing for the Bantams, through many ups and downs, to the role of assistant manager for both Stuart McCall and Peter Taylor, Jakes has been an integral part of the Valley Parade scene for the best part of two decades. He made 318 appearances for the club, and in-between his One in a Million work is now a regular summariser on BBC Radio Leeds (far, far better than John Hendrie, if you ask me). There are so many things I personally want to hear Wayne’s view on, it should be a brilliant evening.

Wednesday 12 December, 8.30pm, £2 members and £4 non-members. The venue is Herriots Hotel Skipton.
