  1. a simple question. Which is City’s best eleven? The one we put out against Mansfield or the one which selected for the Leyton Orient match? Before last Tuesday supporters could be forgiven for thinking the answer a foregone conclusion. As a group are we still 100% sure?

    • It’s a difficult question at the moment, which represents our squad depth but also shows some question marks over players. For example, I think only Connolly, Sarce, Baldwin, Pennington and Neufville are the nailed on outfield starters in their current position when everyone is fit. Touray has played well but Wright is better going forward.

I’m also saying this from my perspective not who I think Alexander would pick.

If I was told to pick our best XI, I’d probably go with the below:

      McCracken

      Pennington Baldwin Touray

      Neufville Connolly Wright

      Morgan

      Sarce Pointon

      Beesley

I’m not saying it’s perfect, as Morgan is still a relative unknown, we need to see how he adapts. If he doesn’t perform for us I’d put Sarce back in midfield and probably pick Jackson on the right. I like Swan but feel he’s a bit more limited in what he can do and I do also rate Humphrys, in fact I think he’s one of our best players when he’s got the bit between his teeth, but, he needs to show that he can do that most games + be given the opportunity. Also, Humphrys would be better on the left but I can’t justify dropping Pointon and I think Beesley brings a lot to our game.
