French/Swiss centre half Christopher Routis has today signed a one-year deal at Valley Parade, providing vital cover to the right-hand side of defence. The contract includes the option of a further year, should the club choose.
The 24-year-old had been on trial with Bradford City pre-season, featuring in the friendlies against Ossett Town, Blackburn Rovers, Bradford (Park Avenue) and Hartlepool United and impressing, especially in the latter match. He previously spent three years with Swiss super league club Servette.
Routis will be Rory McArdle’s understudy and could make the bench tomorrow if international clearance arrives in time.
